It's been quite slow (which on balance is probably a good thing - perhaps I should say 'steady'?) but we're beginning to see a growing level of interest in our cloud infrastructure, based in part on the soft launch of what we're now calling our Education Cloud last week, plus one or two presentations and meetings (which I'll report on in due course) and other contacts that have been made of late.
By way of a quick update... we currently have about 20 virtual organisations set up within our vCloud Compute service, about 7 of which are associated with UMF-funded projects (e.g. the SaaS projects), about 8 of which are HE institutions of one kind or another and the rest are a variety of experimental uses (both internally within Eduserv and by outside parties).
The vCloud infrastructure seems stable and responsive (we initially had one or two performance issues with load balancing across multiple vCloud Director cells but these are now all resolved) and we're offering institutions 2 months free trial... so if you're interested in trying it out (as an institution), please get in touch (raise a ticket asking for access) and we'll sort things out for you.
